The substations are located in North Ostrobothnia, in Pyhäjoki and Siikajoki municipalities, south of Oulu.
The delivery includes the construction of a 110kV field for the Oltava and Siikajoenkylä substations, protection relay changes and new earth fault current compensation equipment. In addition, the main transformer from Vihtakangas substation in central Finland will be transferred to Siikajoenkylä substation.
The target of the renovations is to strengthen the reliability of electricity distribution and reduce power outages and outage times for electricity users in Northern Ostrobothnia. The Oltava expansion also improves the connectivity of renewable energy to the electricity distribution network.
“We are convinced of Ensto Maviko’s strong expertise in the renovations of primary substations, and confident that with their help we are able to offer our customers even more resilient electricity supply in the future,” says Olli Haapamäki, Elenia’s Project Manager.
Kimmo Autio, Managing Director of Ensto Maviko, thanks Elenia for their trust: “It is an honor to be selected for the Elenia renovation project and it demonstrates our commitment to delivering high quality electrical infrastructure solutions and the success of our previous projects.”
The turnkey delivery will be implemented during 2024.
Ensto Maviko became a part of Ensto Group in June 2023, when Ensto acquired Finnish Maviko Oy specializing in electricity distribution services and smart secondary substations.
