The year 2023 is my 20th anniversary at Ensto. This is my first workplace, and I am planning to retire from here in a couple of decades. Ensto is a very good company to work at, so I am not willing to change. I started at Ensto in Poland as a warehouse worker right after high school in 2003. I actually heard from a friend that there was an open position and applied. During the years I have held several positions like Customer Care Specialist and Logistics Specialist to mention some.
Today I work as Logistics Manager in Ensto’s Poland office and my tasks vary a lot from managing the warehouse, inventories, and stock levels to connecting salespeople with the back office regarding many matters like agreements, IFS, and logistics. We are four talented, motivated experts in the logistics team and our spirit is high. The people and the unique atmosphere we have are two of the reasons why I have stayed for such a long time at Ensto.
For me it is very important to work in a family business as I feel it makes more sense what comes to loyalty to the family and the whole business. People are more willing to go the extra mile when working in that kind of a family-like atmosphere. I can see respect for employees, truly for everyone in every single function; it is visible every day and it has been like that always that I remember. At Ensto we have long careers, which actually tells it all.
As this is my only workplace, I have learned here everything I can in the working life. I have been able to and still am able to develop my skills and knowledge as there are a lot of training sessions I can attend. What comes to being a manager, I think you just learn by doing. The most important thing for me is to be a good listener, which sometimes can be hard, but you can manage if you truly want to. Listening is very valuable.
I am 40 years old, married and have three kids of ages 7, 11, and 17. We live more than 60 kilometers from the office in the countryside, so commuting takes two hours per day. I travel together with a colleague, so we are living according to Ensto values there, too, as we are saving the environment by sharing a car. In my free time I like reading and taking walks in nature. In addition, I am a blood donor and volunteer for an organization which helps blind people by bringing them together.
We must all as individuals do our part to tackle climate change. Here at work, we are educating our customers and other stakeholders like suppliers by promoting sustainability practices and sharing our targets with them. This is practically about everyday communications which means we are showing the way by setting an example to others and doing what we promise.
